Dr. Kitt is one of the best professors I've had at UT. She has a wonderful personality, and presents the material enthusiastically! Personal Finance is a helpful class...these are things that all of us should know! It's a decent amount of work (time), but NOT hard. Take her for HDF 322 over any other professor!

This class is largely based on lecture. Kitt will give you hints for the exam and many checkpoints for your project. She is a sweet, older lady (20 years at UT). There are four tests, one of which you can drop. Tests are challenging, but if you attend class, review lecture notes (slides on-line) and practice tests you'll do fine. There are also 6 projects. Easy to get full credit if you ask for help. The details left out in the lecture are covered in the practice tests. The content of this course is very useful. We covered budgeting, housing, Taxes, insurance and investments. PS. the book "Personal Finance" is useless, don't buy one

This class is interesting in that it makes you think about everyday things in a new way. Most of the class might seem like common sense, but Dr. Kitt really tries to open student's eyes about the world around them. I found this class interesting, and Dr. Kitt is a wonderful professor with a good personality. She is easy to approach, but sometimes you can tell when she is a little stressed and absent minded. Overall Dr. Kitt is very good. :)
