Review from a student who took ECO 392M
The class introduces numerous useful techniques for computation which are relevent not only in economics, but also in other fields such as engineering, computer science, finance and even public policy. The workload is high but interesting. Homework assignments and projects make up most of the course grade. This class is useful when you want to develop some computational skills for use in your research. The prof is a fine speaker and covers a huge spectrum in the field of computational economics in his lectures. Ideal time for such a course would be in the 2nd yr of your graduate study.
