Review from a student who took BA 324
I went out of my way to take Jones because he is supposedly a "genius" or something. I sure didn't think so, and I know 70% (or more) of my classmates didn't either. The final project was basically 20 pages of crap that we made up just to finish the assignment. To his credit, Don Jones will work with you outside of class - to his discredit, nothing is taught in class. You have to go to OH just to figure out what's going on! When you do have time to go, there's usually already 5 people there and you have to wait for an hour to maybe get to talk to him. Final grades were arbitrarily assigned. We had perhaps two grades on the last day!?! Everyone had a failing grade and no idea what they were doing. Everyone, including me, was working on finishing assignments even after the final class (which is against university rules). I had to turn in the last thing after I returned home (the dorms had closed). What a nightmare...I learned nothing and I was so frustrated the whole time. This is the worst class I have ever taken, even though I randomly was given an A.

This is THE professor to take for THIS class. You don't appreciate this course til the end. Many intangibles learned. Group project is hard yet extremely satisfying. In a best case scenario, you will make some life long friends through this class. Jones will continually make a personal effort on his own time to help you out. Excellent professor, whether it takes you a semester to realize it or not.
