Review from a student who took gov 310L
This class was very challenging but great for someone who is liberal minded. He focuses almost entirely on the social protest movements and that was great! You don't have to do all the reading, just wait until before the test and he'll give you a list of the possible topics and only read those. As long as you can talk about the few things he wants you don't have to read the huge books he makes you buy. But fyi, they do have great info if you do have the time to read them. I learned a lot in that class and got a B. I didn't realize until the very end that I didn't need to do all the reading and therefore wasted a lot of valuable time. Take him though. He really knows what he is talking about. But you might not like him if you aren't liberal.

Goldhammer came across as pretty egotiscal, but still seemed knowledgable. the course load was heavy on reading, but light on other work. this was not a "nightmare government class" that you hear about, but it was not a walk in the park either. topics were interesting and different from what you would expect from a government survey class.

Goldhammer is a pompous ass, but i did almost no reading, didnt go to class, and very little studying and got a B. not a bad class if you ask me.
