Dr. Fowler was an awesome professor. The course consisted of two tests, homework due once a week, and quizes given at the discretion of the ta during discussions. It sounds like a fairly large amount of work, but its not bad at all. He generally works out almost every homework problem in class. You don't really have to go to class except to turn in homework. The tests are straightforward, nothing tricky. He is the best professor I've had so far. The grading depends on the ta, but I had a good one so it was fine. Best professor for EM 306!

Wow, Fowler is awesome!!! First of all, the class is really easy because most of it is a repeat of High school physics 1. But I can't get over how amazing Fowler is. He's so kind! He assigns weekly hw (do them all if you don't know the stuff), but only makes one problem due per week. At the beginning of class he asks which problem we should submit and he takes our advice. For a few times a kid or two would say "NO PROBLEM!" and Fowler would go with that. He's just such a nice guy and so friendly and approachable. Take him!

I WOULD MARRY FOWLER! This is the best professor at UT. TAKE THIS CLASS. I personally think the guy is hilarious, I don't think I have ever seen anyone SO excited to do statics problems. This prof LOVES it and he loves his students- you can tell when you walk in the room. He genuinely cares about helping you and helping you do your best!! The guy is so entertaining and happy about life- I went to his office hours once and had a blast. Not only does he want you to do well he really wants you to gain confidence in your ablitlies, so he is always encouraging and telling you you can do it. THe class is all example problems so as long as you choose carefully it doesn't hurt too much to miss class once in a while. Even though it's annoying going to discussion on monday or tuesday night I would go because the TA pretty much does the whole homework for you, if you have a good TA. One homework problem is due a week- not that overwhelming AT ALL. The TA is encouraged by Fowler to "help" you and give you hints WHILE taking the test... nicer than middle school. LOVE THIS PROF

He made statics very understandable and really cared about the progress of the students. he would let students ask specific questions on a problem and he would work them out. He has a lesson plan, but it is fairly flexible. There are two test and a final. Do all the work correctly, but not calculate the answer, you will only get 1 point off (3-4 questions per test)
