Review from a student who took BIO 373
Professor Fowler presents her lectures as 'stories' which make the material more interesting. The class isn't too hard for a bio class, but you need to take good notes. On the tests, she can ask for specifics, especially specific examples of concepts she mentioned in class. Grades are calculated as 4 exams worth 15% each, 4 problem sets worth 5% each, 15% written assignments, and 5% attendance to discussion. Since the grading is spread out over a lot of different assignments, it's easy to make an A. However, let me warn you, Fowler is not very good with interpersonal skills and she can be quite mean, especially if she thinks of you as a slacker.
