Review from a student who took UGS 302
The UGS topic he taught was "Promises and Perils of the Education System." Horribly biased and narrow-minded. There is only one point of view right in the class: HIS. I'm writing this three years later, and I still cringe at how he doctored information to support only has claim on education. He promotes the importance of quality education for all, but in reality he excludes certain groups and shuts them down. This man here is truly what was the "peril" of my college education. The only positive was that in the class, when all the readings and discussions were done promptly and properly, an A is manageable.

Review from a student who took UGS 303
Dr. Foster is a cool person and his research is interesting, but this class is highly disappointing. The reason I say disappointing is because it seemed like Dr. Foster just didn't really care about teaching a freshman class. He is a great lecturer and I would look forward to hearing his lectures on the course material, but instead of lecturing he would either go off on a tangent or facilitate a political discussion which had nothing to do with the class. We finished the class two weeks behind schedule and I can barely tell you what we learned in that class because he rushed through so many lectures just to make it to that point. The grading is also super confusing and disorganized. It is very unclear whether anything is weighted at all and in total four assignments: two papers and two quizzes make up your grade. Dr. Foster does some really amazing research and is a leader in the community, but I wouldn't recommend taking this class for any reason other then a relatively easy A or A-.
