M 361K was okay. Davis is very approachable and reasonable. I accidentally forgot to turn in a page of my exam, but she accepted the missing page when I realized my error and didn't take any points off! M375 is her Mathematical Modeling in Biology class, which I highly recommend for people who want to see what all this math we're learning is used for in a biological context. Lectures are interesting and enjoyable. It was a much better experience than M 361K.

Overrated professor - she is mean and does not care who you are. If she thinks you are stupid, she will tell it to your face and already brand you a failure. Avoid this professor if possible.

Prof. Davis is great. She's witty, upbeat, and oh-so energized. While she sometimes comes off as haughty or aloof after class, her lectures are very thorough and also very inclusive, which is quite a feat when teaching 250 students. Another thing, the TA I had, Paula, was AMAZING!!! Very good class. Made an A.

good. she teaches based on the tests, so we'll know better what to expect. tests are 15 or 20 multiple choice questions though, so they are usually really picky about the answers. she tries to help us so we are more prepared though.

She's okay. Not a bad choice, probably not the best either. Tests are a little challenging, but she prepares her students well.

She doesn't lecture very well at all. She talks to the board instead of the class, she lectures at lightning speed, and she's not very good at explaining concepts (she just teaches us "tricks" instead of helping us understand). However, she has the tendency to tell you exactly what's on the test. Without the TA sessions, I wouldn't have learned anything at all.

she is the reason the math departments, m408k and 403l and horrible. she is the head and came up with the bright idea of multiple choice, no partial credit exams. way to be kathy davis, way to ruin something good. i got B's in both classes though, but i still think she is ridiculous

Dr. Davis is my favorite mathematics professor at UT (I'm a math major, so I'm picking from a large group for a favorite, here). Her lectures are very clear and exceptionally well prepared. Quizzes are excellent preparatory indicators for the exam: A student's performance on the quiz is the best source of information about how you will do on the exams. Exams are a fair evaluation of material learned. Personality-wise, Dr. Davis is very direct and matter-of-fact, which some students can interpret as severity of temper or disinterest in their success. This is an unfortunate misunderstanding, as she is a very wise, helpful and interested ally in the success of her students both. I highly recommend her classes - she's awesome!
