I took his class, Financial Strategies ( private equity). He did not know much about PE business and just explained the general overview of this industry. He needs to learn a lot if he wants to keep teaching finance for MBA students.

he's funny and straight forward. He doesn't hold back. he can get every manager out there offended. he's worth every penny.

Brandl's lively cynical personality made 8:00 lectures not bad to attend. And it's important to go to class - 90% of the test is lecture material. I always skimmed the book the night before the test - and I always got an A. So if you're a lecture learner and not a book reader, this class is GREAT. As long as you understand what he goes over in class (which has alot to do with economics), you'll do fine on the tests.

Professor Brandl is one of a kind. His rep is tough and so are his tests. However, his ability to teach the material beyond the textbook and inspire you to analyze financial vehicles by what you think, not by what you see, is worth the hard tests. His lectures are always interesting and insightful. You will take him and feel worthy than what you have paid for to take this class. On top of that, he truly, truly is a nice guy and will advice his students in any way possible. I've had about 17-20 professors now and I do not doubt that he's on top. Take him, he's an A+ professor.

He may be a great teacher, but he is not very aproachable or accessible. He did not have set office hours when I took him. He talks really fast in his lectures, and everything he says is important for the tests.
