Despite some discouraging things you may have heard about Allison or his grade history, he is actually a really good prof. His lectures provide you with most of what you need for the tests and are very clear. Some find his tests to be a little tricky, but he gives a generous curve to compensate. Plus, all tests are completely open note. He doesn't test you on what you can memorize, but rather how you can apply a concept. This is great because you can just read and take notes once and you're ready...no need to waste time memorizing...hardly any studying required (if you can reason a problem out with a little base knowledge). I was able to do all my reading a night or two before tests and got an A. A warning though: the test questions are often very detailed?pay close attention to every word in them, and make sure you understand and can apply all legal concepts.

Not the best professor to take for this class. Yeah, he's nice, but his lectures are so boring, and what makes it even worse is that they are all required. He doesn't post his notes on Blackboard, so you have to pay attention to what he says in class and take notes. His tests are ok, but they are definitely NOT open note, open book. Mainly it's the lectures that I cannot stand in his class. I would highly recommend taking someone else. I regret having him now.
