Professor profile for Hugh Poynor
Student reviews of Hugh Poynor
Review from a student who took MIS 373.14
Hugh has definitely been one of the best professors I have had at UT. His lectures are sprinkled with puns that made me laugh out loud. In Web Systems Development (WebSys), you cover XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, design/graphics, and ASP/PHP (more PHP than ASP since you get ASP in MIS 333K). His "textbook" is actually a Web site that he has compiled from his experience, TAs, and students' comments. It holds a wealth of Web information and will most likely be forever bookmarked on my computer as a valuable reference. He assigned five eProjects that were due on the same day as five eTests. As the names imply, the projects and tests are all created on the Web. Take this class if it is offered because the business school doesn't realize how important it is, and you might not get a chance to see it in the course schedule again!
