Student reviews of Neal Evans
Review from a student who took TC 301
Dr. Evans is a wonderful professor, and TC 301: Origin Science was one of the best classes I have ever taken. The discussion was thought provoking and worthwhile, the papers were interesting to research and write, and Dr. Evans is an exceptionally fair grader. The course is organized very well and the texts that he chooses are designed to encourage debate. He does an excellent job walking a bunch of liberal arts majors through some fairly complex physics, cosmology, and biology. I would definitely recommend taking this class!

Tests are combination MC (5 questions) and in class essays (5 essays, 1 page each). He gives needless details at lectures and wants way too much information on the tests. This class is multifaceted (astronomy, chemestry, biology, anthropology, history, current events, science fiction) and extremely difficult. You have to know practically everything about each topic and be able to regurgitate it for full credit. I know it sounds interesting, but you will have to study way too much to do well in this class.
